This is Love Letter #27 - a list of all things I'm liking at the moment...

FYI - This is going to be my last love letter post for a while!! I'm going to be changing the format of these posts to be a little more interesting, and they will be only happening once at the end of every month now to have better quality! <3 

 

 

The new Monster High special "Why do ghouls fall in love?" is finally online, and its adorable! If you like the dolls, definitely check it out! It features my favorite character, Draculaura! <3 The story is actually really good and I love Abbey Bominable in it, they gave her a lot of funny lines.

"Bath Time for Baby Sloths" on Animal Planet - SO CUTE!!  (I discovered this after watching Kristen Bell's melton on Ellen over sloths hehe)

The notorious Bettie Page - I recently trimmed my bangs in more of a Bettie Page style, and inspired me to finally check out this movie two weeks ago. I found it very interesting and well executed, and now I'm looking forward to an upcoming Bettie documentary that is being worked on. 

The Secret World of Arrietty - I'm going to see this tonight with my boyfriend and I can't wait!! It looks really cute and I love Miyazaki films <3

"Love train" - The O'Jays (the visuals in this video are weird and from other things, but the recording is good!)

"How d'ya like your eggs in the morning?" - Dean Martin and Helen O'Connell - this comes on my favorite jazz station all the time and I think it's too adorable.

Tarina Tarantino is opening up a huge "Sparkle Factory" in downtown LA!! I'm so excited and can't wait to see how it turns out! Maybe it'll even be ready by the time I visit... which would be amazing!

I found a cute skull bandana and Draculaura's coffin finally, picked up delicious heart shaped doughnuts with my boyfriend, made a pearl necklace/collar for Pika, got super cool heart nail stickers from Emma and tried my hand at Draculaura make up for my Halloween costume I might start working on.

Monster High "Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love" and My Little Ponies "Friendship is magic" - yes, I finally watched the new my little ponies, and it's actually pretty cute... and on the note of other children's shows, I'm excited for the new Monster High special in February. Guuuiillty pleasures guys. <3

Shit Tumblr Girls Say - Angelina is hilarious and awesome. If you haven't seen this yet, then watch it - it's dead on. 

 

Advanced Style documentary - Love these women. Major inspiration here - I actually took lines from this video and printed them out to put up around my house. I can't wait to see the documentary!

 

Zine Scene: The Do It Yourself Guide to Zines - Cruised through this one at the Library last week and while it's really old now (published in 1998!) a lot of the info still applies, but to blogs! Very very cool book plus a fun look into the recent past. Plus, it was super fun to see examples of zines that had been made and a look at the authors. 

What We Wore: An Offbeat Social History of Women's Clothing, 1950 to 1980 - Another one I read at the library. I love looking through books like this to see the changes in fashion. Looove these bathing suits in this photo I took:

Koko Dake no Hanaashi - Chatmonchy - My cousin Chad gave me a Chatmonchy cd for Christmas and I'm loving it! Their music is so upbeat.

The Lady is a Tramp - Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga - looooveee!!! This is one of my favorite songs, and they did it wonderfully together.

 

Just Dance 3 is AMAZING!! I feel so good after playing it - it's the best work out ever. Chris got it for me for Christmas and I want to play it everyday! I hope I can get super good at it over time... right now I just kinda hop around and try my best. It's so fun! :)

 

Working on puzzles! Chris and I have been doing epic puzzling lately and it is so fun! We are almost done with a 2000 piece puzzle, and then we will start a 3000 piece one! Wheeee!

DIY peter pan collar from felt - annnd if you're not the DIY type though, this one is pretty fabulous on etsy. I really want to try to make this! Love this one by Chubby Bunny too.

Craisins in Cherry flavor and Walkers shortbread rounds - omgggg I could eat these all day. ALL DAY. Oh wait, I just did.

My Phillips wake up light alarm clock - I received this for Christmas and it is AMAZING!! I wake up so peacefully now. Often I wake up just to the light, but there is a soft bird chirping sound that happens closer to your hopeful wake up time just in case the light doesn't do the trick. It's so realistic I can't tell if its the birds outside or not sometimes! If you have issues waking up in the morning you might want to check this out!

Shit Girls Say - oh my goodness... so spot on hilarious hahaha - I showed this to Chris and we died laughing watching it because I say/do a lot of these things. ;P The chip part at the end kills me.

Chris got me hooked up onto Spotify this month and I've been freaking out at how easy it is to listen to music!! Now I can preview all kinds of things before jumping in to buy a cd! It's really exciting :) Here are some of the songs I've had on rotation recently:

Love the simple healthy recipes on Undressed Skeleton's tumblr - I've been trying to cook more lately, and a lot of the recommendations she makes are so easy to prepare for fast lunches (and healthy!). The blog name is a bit weird, but if you click the link she explains the concept behind the name which is interesting.

The Time Warp Wives - Found this documentary really interesting. I have no desire to live so extreme like that, but its neat to peak into the lives of others living in such an unusual way - here is Part 1 and Part 2. I think my favorite person covered was Sammi Saddler - the young gal in 1940s style who was single. My friend Janaí told me about the documentary and then mentioned that apparently it was edited in a way that didn't feature the women honestly...After searching I found this link where Joanne Massey sets the record straight on their Time Warp lives.

The Muppet Movie!! I saw this the night before Thanksgiving with Chris, and it was SO good! I already want to go see it again! If you haven't seen it yet, go go go! I can't get this song from the movie out of my head...

Take a moment to read this and then reflect. The world needs more positivity, support and inspiration - and we should never shoot down anyone for trying something new to improve their life.
