What I wore today illustration #8

Here is a quick little "What I wore today" illustration! I sketched it out during my last two weeks at my job, but I didn't actually get around to coloring it until today. It was so rainy and windy the day I wore that outfit - ironically its super sunny and beautiful today... Speaking of which, I probably should stop drawing and go eat some lunch outside or something! It is too nice to pass this up.

What I wore today illustration #7

So I just got back from a mini road trip to Charleston... I didn't let myself draw the whole time and instead just focused on relaxing/eating/napping/etc. Because of this I'm a little out of the swing of things, and tried to do a WIWT drawing to warm up. I don't know how I feel about it - I need to draw more this evening because my skills are all wonky... Anyhow - As you can see I changed my hair!! It is now a purpley pink :) You can kinda see it in the outfit photo:

Wheeee - I look like I'm trying to fly or something! Today was my first full work day for myself - I spent most of it going through email, cleaning and sorting business stuff. Not very exciting - I know. I'll be coming up with a schedule for blog posts tomorrow, so hopefully things will be more lively around here! Also, I uploaded a tonnnn of photos to my flickr account today, and should be sharing some either tomorrow or Friday from my Charleston trip. What I wore today illustration #6

Here is a quick little "What I Wore Today" illustration that I started last week. I think I wore this to work on Thursday? I doodled it on paper because I really liked my outfit, but I wasn't able to sit down and actually draw it until today. The shirt I have on is one of my favorites - its hand made and from my favorite gallery here in Atlanta, Young Blood Gallery. It's made of super soft jersey and has little criss cross feathers printed all over:

And here is the actual sketch for kicks. I'll be putting this up in my etsy in a few days I think. Man... I'm super sleepy today! I'm probably going to go to bed early. I spent most of my evening drawing and watching "My life as Liz", has anyone seen that yet? My friend Victor linked it to me because he thought our hair styles looked the same - and while I thought the show looked kinda dumb... I gave it a chance and found I actually really like it. Liz reminds me a lot of myself when I was in high school and the issues I had to deal with... does anyone else find it relatable? What I wore today illustration and sketches

Lets see... things that have been going on: I got a little hair cut - first one in a year and half! I was excited my stylist still remembered me :) I also went thrifting with my cousin and found a nice little blue espresso cup and saucer, and my art show was Saturday evening... that went pretty good. Saw lots of friends which was very nice :D Also, Chris came home from his San Francisco work trip which makes me super happy... <3 On top of all that I've had a good bit of work lately - so very busy weekend! But I thought I'd take a break from working on freelance and do a WIWT illustration - It's been a while since I last did one!

This is actually what I wore on Saturday to thrifting. Its been interesting trying to figure out clothing color options with my new hair - so far I seem to like everything better with the red vs the pink and black! :) For fun I thought I'd also show you guys the sketch I did to plan my WIWT doodle... Typically I plan these out over eating lunch or a snack so they don't take so long on the computer. Plus its nice to draw on paper every now and again instead of always using the computer.

I haven't been doing much personal art lately because I've been really tired in between my full time job and my freelance work... But I really have been wanting to draw little heart locks, bats, red pandas, girly things... I have so many ideas but not enough time! Ah well. I tried to scribble some of them out on the computer - for some reason I keep thinking I want a tattoo of a heart lock and key so I've been trying to sketch out my ideas... I don't think I'll end up getting it - but I imagine it could look very pretty if done well!

WIWT + a mini Things I love Thursday

This is my outfit from Tuesday! I had on so many layers that day - a dress and shirt under my dress, knee socks, leg warmers, tights, cardigan AND scarf... toasty <3

Right now I'm drinking a cup of tea at my desk in a similar sort of get-up. I have on 2 dresses, a shirt and a sweater! Oh man. My clothing choices don't really change through out the year, I just end up layering like crazy to stay warm! Now if I could just find a good hat... I really want this one but I'm being thrifty right now. :B

Anyhow... Here's my mini Things I love Thursday list for this week:

Coffeeeee <3 (and tea!) which is why I decided to invest in a Moka pot. I've used a very crappy espresso machine for the past 5 years, so hopefully this will make a better cup. Yum!
