Ohmigosh where did the week go?! I apologize for lack of updates - the week truly has zipped by me. I don't have a lot to share, spent most of the week doing businessy things and putting stuff on ebay. Blargh! So very little time for drawing... However I did doodle this quickly yesterday:

Its "iamamiwhoami", from the ongoing wacky music video viral marketing campaign. I'm really interested in it right now - but I have to admit the videos creep me out a bit. I think its the distorted eyes and bright white teeth... I actually screamed at the end of the last one - hahah! I'm such a wimp. If you haven't seen them, check them out here. The videos go in order so be sure to start from the beginning! And I don't recommend watching them late at night alone if you are a coward like me ;)

Anyhow - about the ebay stuff, here is a preview

I am trying to clean out stuff I've had in storage, and unfortunately a lot of my Harley Quinn collection is part of that. I'm keeping a lot of stuff still, but above is what I weeded out to put on Ebay. I'm also selling shoes, collectibles and other little things, so go look. I'm looking forward to getting all these packaging boxes out of my house next week! hehe... soo:

Well thats about it. While taking photos for ebay and doing business research and meetings, I escaped briefly to hula hoop outside on Sunday, started listening to some Eisley (looove Brightly Wound and Golly Sandra), wearing flowers in my hair made by my friend Sarina, daydreaming of Totoro tattoos and started playing Um Jammer Lammy again (It's really hard! But I'm also bad at video games). Here is to hoping next week I'll have more time for drawing!

Won Fu! I picked up an issue of Giant Robot the other day and they had an article on this Taiwanese band, Won Fu, and their first US tour. It was a really cute article - and I have to admit I was pulled in by the lead singer Mami's dark purple hair (although I cant find any pictures online - I wonder if it was a printing error? ha! here are some cute pics I did find though). Check out this video by them, it even shows part of their stay in San Francisco at the very end:

Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix! I found a demo of it to download on our PlayStation and I'm so excited! I used to love that game a lot when I had it on my gameboy and ollld playstation.

Getting excited about trips: It looks like I'm going to San Francisco in April and San Deigo Comic Con in July! I'm trying to figure out a budget for other trips, I hope it works out. I miss traveling!

Listening to old 90s girl bands! specifically The Sundays (love: here's where the story ends) and Veruca Salt (love: Seether, Shutterbug)

Getting my “Oh No, A Meteor” Minicomic in the mail from Nedroid.com (with Bartholomew drawn inside!!)

Last but not least, I just found out about the cartoon "Adventure Time with Finn and Jake", and I really like what I saw! I don't know a whole lot about it still, but I wanted to share the first clip I watched. If I find out more, I'll share it later :) Here you go:

Art update: random jacket girl

Not a whole lot to say about this one - The other day I got the idea that I wanted to draw a cute girl in a motorcycle jacket, brushing her hair out of her face. Real simple. So here it is!

Originally, I thought I wanted her to have light pink hair and a dark gray jacket (like the one on the farthest left) - but after playing with lots of color ideas I settled on the green. I kinda want blue or green hair right now - maybe thats why? ;)

Art update: Tarot card for Super Punch!

I'm so excited to finally share a project I just wrapped up! A few weeks ago I was invited to work on a tarot card for the third anniversary of Super Punch... There was a ton of really great artists involved with the project, and the idea sounded fun - so I picked the "Three of Wands". The reason I picked this card was due to the meaning, which after a bit of research is around the idea of Dreams becoming reality/The start of a new Career/Investing in your passion, etc. Sounded like a good fit for me!

Here is the starting sketch:

Immediately after reading the description, I knew I wanted illustration to include two girls sharing the responsibility of holding the wand... The reason I wanted two was: 1. I'm a gemini and this card's meaning hit home for me, 2. There are two sides to every tarot card.

So far it sounds like Super Punch is trying to get a show set up to display all the cards, and might even print the entire deck! If you want to see the rest of the cards, check out the site "Endless Deck". It will be updated as new ones come in.

If you haven't heard of Super Punch before, I totally recommend the site. Its run by John Struan, and focuses on illustration, design, plush and vinyl toys, amazing advertisements and many other types of artsy pop culture. Frequently updated and always something interesting to check out!
