I've taken a ton of photos over the past two and half weeks, and I thought it might be fun to share some of them while giving you a little life update!
Above is a super delicious soy cappuccino from one of my favorite brunch places, Stone Soup! I went with Chris the other morning before he had a track racing tournament. I was kinda cranky night before because I had just touched up my pink dye and it came out too dark - so the cappuccino was a nice way to start the morning on a cheery note. I love giant cups of coffee!
Here is my super yummy breakfast from Stone Soup that morning! It was scrambled eggs with mushrooms, red pepper, sprouts, potatoes and a biscuit. They seriously have the best healthy breakfast in Atlanta in my opinion!
Driving through Castleberry hill on a beautiful afternoon after dropping Chris off to race bikes.
And then later that evening we had celebratory drinks because his team won races at the track that day! It was super cool to go watch them ride - if you've never seen or heard of track bicycle racing then you should go check out Chris's posts on it: click here.
Super cute desserts at the not so cute grocery store we go to. I was shocked! They just recently revamped the design of our grocery store so I guess they carry more interesting stuff now. I love the little strawberries! I'll have to try one someday.
An awesome gal named Erica from Lime Crime sent me this tube of lipstick to try since it matches my hair! The color is called "Centrifuchsia" and it is so different from anything I've worn before but I like it! I typically wear really light natural lipsticks... my favorite is "Syrup" by MAC, so wearing something this bright was kinda adventurous for me! I am going to try to bust it out at Dragon*Con in a few months with a fun outfit. See below for swatches of it next to my regular lipstick... I put a tiny bit of MAC dazzle glass on the Centrifuchsia swatch - its actually very matte. If you are interested in hearing more of my opinions/review, go check out my comments with people on flickr!
I also made a new friend recently - JanaĆ-Chanelle from Live Journal! Her user name on there is goldwillstay) I've been following her journal for a while, so I was super excited to meet up with her when she told me she lived in Atlanta! We met up at Aurora Coffee in Little 5 and talked for hours with total ease. We even tried to snap so photos before we left!
Unfortunately the lighting was really bad when we did try to take photos because it started to pour right before leaving... The majority were blurry - but here is one below that came out nice! I can't wait to hang out with her again and get to know her more. She has the best stories and photo adventures!
In between adventures, I've been reading a lot of Harry Potter (still) and watching Gokinjo Monogatari episodes. I think I'm about to take a break with Harry Potter so I can read Demo by Becky Cloonan and Skim by Mariko Tamaki - both were lent to me recently and I really need to finish them so I can return them to their owners! :B So many comics and books - so little time...
Pika also kinda gave me a scare this weekend! She picked up a weird wheezing coughing habit for 2 days and I thought she had Kennel Cough! This was all in the middle of rushing around trying to get my freelance projects wrapped up so I could contribute time to the Scott Pilgrim party planning group. What rotten timing - but what can you do! I was able to get her to the vet pretty quick on Monday and the good news was she was just having allergies. Oh little pup! That was super good news - and even better, she is feeling great now! I was so relieved to find out she wasn't as sick as I imagined. The above picture is of her acting sad while it was raining. Pika hates rain! It makes her very nervous.
This past Saturday was my cousin Lauren's engagement party! Unfortunately, I don't have any photos really of the event... only of my hair! (I didn't take my camera! whooops) I really liked the hair style I tried that day though - its three messy buns tucked up and a fabric head band paired with an orchid. I was going for a sort of 20's flapper style look but less tidy and more San-like. I'm really digging ornamental hair stuff right now and trying to figure out ways to do stuff like that with my hair.
I saw my mom while I was at the engagement party and she gave me two huge boxes of VHS tapes from our basement to go through and a new tea cup! I've never had a tea cup like this before - its the kind you use loose tea in! I don't have any loose tea, but I was dying to try it out so I just put the contents of tea packets in it... hahah! I'll have to find out where to get good loose tea in Atlanta to try in my new cup. And oh man, the VHS tapes...! There were a lot of the blank kind that you record stuff on, but then there were also a lot of Disney tapes (and two Sailor Moon movies!). We don't have a VCR, so I'm kinda torn on what to do with them... our house is kinda small to just display stuff that we don't plan on using, but I also don't want to get rid of them! I put them on a shelf out of the way for now, in hopes I can come up with some sort of idea for them.
Well thats about it for now - Here is a sneak peek at my Ramona Flowers costume from yesterday. Like my office mess explosion? Hahaha! When I get really stressed out from being too busy, I end up making huge messes. So each day it got closer to the event I think more mess started accumulating around me :B I finished my pleather subspace purse though, and whipped together a Ramona-esque outfit to wear. I also started making a mallet but it wasn't ready in time! I'm still going to finish it, and I'll post photos of the whole ensemble plus pictures from the party on Friday. :)
So there's a little life update from me! How have all of you been lately?
