This Friday I was invited to the Planet Shark exhibit here at the Atlanta Aquarium. I had really been wanting to check this out, so I was super excited! There aren't any live sharks in the exhibit - but there are TONS of life size replicas, fossils and even a frozen mako shark on display.
Dun-da... Dun-da... Dun-da-dun-da-dun-da - Rarrrr!
Overall exhibit was really interesting. My favorite parts were the documented shark attacks, various diver suits over the years, shark cages you could climb in, movie memorabilia and the fact that they educated awareness on the cruelty involved with shark fishing. I'm so happy that I was invited to this event - it was very cool and I totally recommend it. Admission to the aquarium is included when you visit the exhibit, so we got to walk around and check out the rest of the rest of the creatures afterwords. :D I got to pet a sting ray while we were there, and Chris pet a little shark! ~scary~! That crazy metal thing on my arm is part of a suit that protects divers from sharks. The entire suit is around 40lbs. Can you imagine being underwater with that on? Yikes.
Did any of you go see New Moon this weekend? Other than awesome aquarium trips, I basically worked on illustration stuff the rest of the time. I hope to go see it next weekend... The Twilight series is one of my secret guilty pleasures! ;)
