So this past Saturday, Chris took me to see "Walking with Dinosaurs"!!
If you haven't heard of it, Walking with Dinosaurs is a theatrical show featuring life size robotic and puppet dinosaurs. The show is 96 minutes long, features 10 different kinds of dinosaurs and is hosted by "a real Paleontologist~!" (hehehe). The show was SO amazing, I couldn't believe how realistic everything seemed. I was shocked when the first dinosaur came out, a Liliensternus - the movement was so life-like it was eerie - even though I knew it was a puppet, it felt like I was watching a real dinosaur right in front of me! It lurked in the shadows for a bit, stole an egg from a nest, leered at the audience - very entertaining and engaging. Each dinosaur put on a little performance and told a story.

My favorite dinosaur of the show was the Utahraptor. The pack of raptors moved so smoothly, it was like being in the movie Jurassic Park. Watching them on stage was half creepy and half fascinating, the only thing that could have made it even cooler was if I could have walked down there to see it face to face! I know, I know, I'm totally geeking out over here. But really - for a dinosaur nut like me, this was pretty fantastic and dreamy. I actually started crying a little bit when the Brachiosauruscame out and walked over to our seats. It was just too realistic! Yes, I'm a mess - heheh :)
Anyhow - It was very dark in there, so I couldn't get pictures easily. I was able to shoot a lot of video with the lighting, so I uploaded some quick blips of my favorite parts without giving too much visual away:
I'm so jazzed about dinos this week now! :B
Hope you had a nice weekend...
