Super Hero Illustration! whee

So there isn't a Things I love Thursday for this week... Because I spent this evening finishing up this illustration and starting a new one of Sookie Stackhouse! Sorry guys! If I have enough time, I'll post a Friday Favorites or something :) I have some fun things I do want to talk about, so I'll see about making it happen!!

Hope you enjoy the drawing above - I had a lot of fun making it. (I think I'm finally feeling comfortable  working with the cintiq.) The girl is based off of that "Hero Factory" website - if you want to make your own hero, go here!

Below is the hero I came up with on the site a while back. (She kinda looks more like a villain to me though... hmmm.) I really liked her tons so I'm glad I finally got to draw her.

Art show photos + doodle

The show went really well -  a lot of my family came out and a few unexpected friends. I ended up meeting one of my neighbors through the show too - he was friends with the other artist showing (Travis Smith aka Mr. Purty!). So that was super neat - plus we went out and got drinks with a lot of the people afterwords to celebrate, and my mother gave me a lovely bouquet of sunflowers and roses. Oh! And my cousin Chad drove all the way from Alabama to come see the show - so crazy! He is sweet. Such a A+ night - photos here! I've been be real busy with caricature illustrations for work, which doesn't leave me a lot of time for personal doodles - but here is one I managed to squeeze out this week. A hula hooper girl!! :D I'm looking forwarded to finishing this later this week. More tomorrow!

This series was based off of #9 - that was a very personal piece for me and it hangs in our home. (Except for this month!) All art work is displayed till July at Radial. If you are interested in purchasing one of the pieces, please contact me via email. Payment is due upfront, but the art will be held till the end of the month when the show ends, and buyers will be contacted after to arrange pick up or shipping. The pieces that don't sell will go on my etsy!! Fun times :) Sorry my etsy is so empty right now - I just sold a couple of pieces and need to get some new stuff in there! I'm going to try to make some sticker/stationary sets soon, and hopefully prints!

Things I love Thursday!

I've had such a nice day - I came home to chill with my pup over lunch, one of my coworkers made cookies for my birthday - and best of all: I don't have work tomorrow! Early weekend whee!

A good bit of today's Things I love Thursday are some of my recent purchases over the past month and half...

• Clothes are from dELiA*s - They are SO awesome - I forgot how much I like their stuff! Hooray for new summer clothes <3
• Urban decay Lip Envy, yellow nail polish and Bare Essentials make up brushes - all from Sephora
• Sweet purple sneaks from Vans
• Dr. Marten's flats
• Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses - I can't find a site selling these online... I got them while visiting my family in Florida
• True Blood - I am such a dork for this show right now. Holy crap! Sookie is such a fun character - that and I'm a sucker for ridiculous vampire stories. Oh man I just realized what I typed... ha!
  
  
• Things not pictured: fantastic unexpected bicycle zoomy rides to your friend's house so you can watch a dvd while your power is out, homemade brownies, french bread pizza (YUM!), "To be continued" by Set Your Goals, the fact that it is raining on my birthday week - I <3 rain and its normally disgustingly hot this time of the year, Andy Samberg's New Moon trailer spoof from the MTV movie awards (I died laughing omg), and of course - the real New Moon trailer - I had some srs bsns embarrassing fangirling going on when I saw it! ha! I'm a goon, I know :)
