Happy Monday!

Things I'm excited about today:

- Lots of fun freelance work (hoooray!)
- Our upcoming trip to San Francisco (again!) and Tahoe. Whee!
- Sharing fabulous desserts with my gal pals last night - lemon raspberry tart!! <3
- my new hula hoop! I loved the wii fit game, and after reading about it in Gala Darling's blog, I was like, why don't I just buy a real one! Its so so so fun! got it from hoopnotica, I want to hula hoop all night but I gotta get back to work!
- Flower Children photos on Kristatomic's blog - gorgeous! Makes me want to put lots of flowers in my hair and run around outside
- The new "The Bird and the Bee" album - its a little more poppy than I expected, but I'm enjoying it a lot. We are going to go see them in February while in San Francisco, should be awesomeee
- Blackpio's 2009 constructable 3-d calendar! I want to make one for my desk at work

Saturday doodles

Warming up for some freelance work over lunch, and thought I'd try something a little different today. I haven't used my markers much in over 10 years, and every time I do it reminds me a lot of how I drew in high school... Not sure how I feel about this - but I like the colors! Its inspired by a photo I saw of Raquel Reed, shes a super cutie. She reminds me of a living Fafi illustration.

Below is fun secret doodle I'm working on for my friend Julie. Shes going to make a site for her arts & crafts selling called Fox Trotting! I'm trying to get used to drawing foxes and figure out some good ideas for it. Foxes standing on foxes standing on foxes... Whee!

Chris thinks its silly I drew this instead of just taking a photo - but sometimes it just feels weird taking photos of my outfits... Plus I really enjoy drawing clothing details. Something neat - the purse that I've been toting around is by Lollipops Paris (which I actually bought on our trip in Paris) and they just recently posted photos of me with it on their website. You should go look! They make the cutest purses.

And in case you are curious - below is the illustration with out all the coloring. I actually prefer just the blank uncolored doodles but always end up coloring them after I scan for some reason. There is also some wacky stuff I'm working on for work in the bottom left corner, and the seeeekrat hidden thing I will be revealing later! FUN!

But seriously - enough about doodles - lets talk about this blue hat cause its the...

I hope you all had an excellent New Years Eve! Mine involved lots of balloooooners filled with glow sticks and good laughs. We went to an excellent party at our friend Joel's, where we popped balloons at midnight and took photobooth pictures all evening long ! <3 <3 It was very fun - I didn't dress up at all but I did break out a little tiara to wear!

I've been spending the days since relaxing, doodling and napping (with the occasional work day thrown in...). Today kinda kicked my butt, so I will end this post very short like with a quick colored doodle from a few days ago. Time to go relax and play some Katamariiii on iPhone!
