Ack!  So I mentioned I was putting postcards on my etsy this week, but I am just now having the back dry.  So I lied! But - they should be up there in the next few days :)  I have good reasons!  One of those being my poor boyfriend broke his collarbone this week :(  I did some additional work on my postcards while he was napping this week, but its really the last thing I'm worried about at the moment! :P

Fun things that happened this week:

- went to the craft mafia gathering/swap with Jenny and knitted for a bit.  Picked up some awesome green and purple yarn that I'm hoping Jenny can show me how to utilize when I get done with my scarf. 

- cooked lots of things!  2 from my new cook book - I made beef & potato croquettes, pear & berry crisp with a side of French vanilla soy ice cream, and stuffed croissants.

- received a fantastic group of packages in the mail on a somewhat gloomyesque Friday!  I had a care package from my from Julie, and then some gift tags I had ordered from Chet & Dot.  Check out the goodies on my flickr!

I'm going to try to do a "Things I love Thursday" post later this week, because I have a lot of stuff I'd love to share right now! I'm off to bed to go make sure my boyfriend is resting well.  Hope you all had a fabulous week!

Hello! I hope you all had an excellent spring week!

I'm relaxing with a cup of chamomile trying to decided if I want to go do some yoga or just go collapse into bed... because frankly I'm really really tired! 

Last week shortly before Chris went out of town, I finally took the plunge and gave up driving to work.  I've been wanting to do this for months but have been lazy and fearful that it would be difficult.  Its turned out to be the most fantastic choice I've made in a while!  Although, I am finding without proper rest, all this walking can really tire me out fast!  Phew.  Sleeping comes real easy right now.

Spring has sprunnnng most definitely!  We've been biking more instead of driving (yes!) and I had a fun week filled with visiting with friends over coffee, drinks, and some knitting, a cookout in celebration of my friend Jenny's big 25th birthday, and some playing in the park today.  And I'm adoring all the beautiful flowers that are out.

I received a really cool housewarming gift from my cousin Stephanie, and inside was a cookbook called "Apples for Jam" by Tessa Kiros.  I made my first recipe out of it today, it was Fried egg and Risotto, and it was deliciousss.   This book is so beautifully put together - all the recipes are sorted by color and have photos of the food grouped with illustrations by the author's daughter.  Its a great collection of simple, comforting and inspiring recipes - I definitely recommend it.

mondayland!

I delayed my weekly Sunday posting to maximize the evening with Chris since he would be leaving this morning for California and wont be returning till the end of the week.  That and I was busy with our housewarming party, and then a birthday party, and then there was also the crappy tornadoness.  I don't even want to dive into that!  I am however very glad that I'm ok, and everyone else I know is ok.  If you were caught up in the bad Atlanta weather this weekend, hope all is well!

Things I'm excited about at the moment:

- Drew Barrymore's super cute office is in Domino Magazine this month.  Two different blogs I read covered it (Decor8 & sfgirlbybay), and now I'm pumped to go pick up the issue.  I've always adored Drew and her great sense of style!

- Emma Magenta's adorable illustrations & her interview on Design*Sponge

- JemiBook's cd, "Make Music Monday"!  I received my copy in the mail today and it was packaged so adorable.  Jem's soft pretty voice and ukulele is excellent to chill to with a glass of wine or while making stuff.  I am really digging her songs!

- Felted nesting bowls - I really want to make these after catching up on design*sponge and seeing the tutorial

- Elderberry & Craspedia - I really want to get some elderberry to scatter on a dessert, and some Craspedia to decorate my desk with!  I just recently discovered these flowers and I'm swooning over them. 

- Molly Dooker wines - fantastic!  I have loved all of the ones I've tried so far.  And they have the BEST labels!  They have inspired me to start saving and collecting my wine labels now.

No crafting!  Just lots of hiding in the house from stormness and visiting with lovely people.  Hope to be bringing you some fun crafting news soonish though!  :)

Whew!  I took Friday off to relax, and I did - but whoah I also got a lot done!  I'm super tired right now, Chris and I just wrapped up painting my office and moving everything back in.  Don't have too much to say other than Roller Derby is awesome and so is Theo Chocolate!

I picked up a bar of the Dark Chocolate and Bread combo from Theo Chocolate while at REI, and it was super delicious!  It has bits of French bread sprinkled through out, so it has a texture of a crunch bar, but with delicious organic dark chocolate and a slight salt taste.  The art on the packaging was very gorgeous, I have to admit thats what drew me to buy the bar in the first place.  Here is Theo Chocolate's website if you'd like to see some of the other stuff they have to offer:  http://www.theochocolate.com/

Saturday was Roller Derby day - Chris got us tickets and we watched the Toxic Shocks compete against the Denim Demons (who were my favorite - Demi Gore and Scarbie Doll were super good and made the game exciting)  I am looking forward to going again and snagging some friends to check it out with us.

Small weird random thing - I went to my salon to go stock up on conditioner, and at the register they had a ceramic heart filled with little pink business cards that said "I love you", to take home and give to someone.  I snagged one for my boyfriend, but I thought that was a really fun idea.  I'm not sure if they came up with it or if its from somewhere online - but isn't that great?  Free little random love cards. 

Lots of other stuff went down, but I don't feel like typing too much more cause I'm reaaaaallly tired.  I've been scheming up some ideas, saw lots of friends this weekend (yay! <3) and soon my room will be put back together and exciting so I'll be taking some pictures soon. 

Off to do some yoga before passing out!  Hope you had a good weekend too.
